Headline: Law enforcement was out of line with bikers

Although I hold the utmost respect for our local law enforcement in its day-to-day duties of protecting us from ourselves, the show of force and the attempts to make the Hells Angels feel unwelcome in our community were nothing more than pure harassment.

I have lived and worked in Duluth and the surrounding area my whole life only to experience the overly exuberant behavior by a state trooper at controlling a motorcycle club that had not caused any trouble. On my ride home from work during the Hells Angels visit, a state trooper cut in front of me and braked at an unsafe distance for no apparent reason I could determine other than I was riding a motorcycle, had long hair and wore black leather. It was quite apparent to me his only motive was a show of force to make his presence known.

I know I am not alone in my thoughts that the visit by Hells Angels Motorcycle Club could have been handled with a little more tact by law enforcement.
